Looking Back…Looking Forward

Welcome to the first RealService blog. I’ve been meaning to put pen to paper on a more regular basis and I hope that you will enjoy these weekly reflections by me and other members of the RealService team on life and customer service, in and out of the property industry.

As you can see, Kingsley Lipsey Morgan has a new name and bright new website. The 2 January 2009 was a significant anniversary - our 10th birthday. I well remember sitting in my home office on 2 January 1999. Then we had no clients, no staff and no certainty that our vision of creating a consulting business to promote customer service was realistic.

Ten years on, we have both clients and I am surrounded by a great team of people. I would like to thank our clients for their loyalty and my team for their commitment.

While I am in reflective mood, I would also like to thank my co-founding partners, Mike Lipsey and Steve Kingsley and their colleagues, especially John Falco and Karen Poirier, for their help and support in getting our business established. The decision to bring our joint venture to a close was not an easy one and I am delighted that we were able to do this amicably, and that our friendship continues. The UK still has a lot to learn from best practice in the USA and we will continue to make sure that our clients can get a clear view of what is happening on the other side of the pond.

People have said that our business could be counter-cyclical. Well, they say that it’s an ill wind that doesn’t bring anyone some good... and we are anticipating an increased demand for advice and research on ways to increase occupier retention and lease space more quickly. It is time to get back to basics and we will are launching a brand new programme designed to help our clients do just that! Watch out for more information.
